Episode 74: Revenge of the Sith, Part 1
This week, we’re army-crawling to the finish line of the Prequel Era. In our recap of Revenge of the Sith (Part One), we talk about the gorgeous visuals, tight plotting, absolutely delightful banter and compelling themes of Star Wars’ final prequel film.
Episode 54: Ahsoka + Younglings Arc, Part 2
Hondo Ohnaka has a no-good, very bad day during the second half of the Ahsoka + Younglings arc (The Clone Wars 5.8–9, “Bound for Rescue” and “A Necessary Bond”).
In our recap, we talk about all the ways Hondo would disappoint us if he was our uncle, the advice we would give to younglings, lightsaber fighting styles, and why this crew of baby Jedi is so dang lovable.
Episode 32: “Arc Troopers”
This week, we talk about heroes great and small as we recap “Arc Troopers” (The Clone Wars 3.2). As you can imagine, Anna’s notes for this episode are mostly frowny faces. And we have so many questions!! What makes a noble death? What are the limitations of being a general by the sword? Is the glory of combat all it’s cracked up to be? And, if you had to pick a favorite clone for this episode, would it be Echo, Fives, or 99?
Episode 26: The Deserter Arc
Clones: Rural soldier philosophers married to hot babes OR speeder bike enthusiasts with no concept of self-determination?
In the Deserter Arc (The Clone Wars, Season 2, episodes 9-10, “Grievous Intrigue” and “The Deserter”) Obi-Wan exhibits both internal and external screaming as Grievous escapes from him once more. We get not one, but TWO new Jedi masters, adorable smol children and one very spooky cornfield. It has been 0 days since Sam cried at a Clone Wars episode.
Episode 11: Rookies
Party at Domino House! In our recap of the standalone episode “Rookies,” we reunite with Domino Squad...just in time to see them fall. On the plus side, Rex is making barbecued eel for dinner (and we’re pretty sure he won the genetic lottery.)
Episode 10: The Malevolence Arc
In a triple-header recap of The Clone Wars Season 1, Episodes 2-4, (“Rising Malevolence,” “Shadow of Malevolence,” and “Destroy Malevolence”) General Grievous pimps his ride, Sam talks about WWII naval warfare (somehow it’s relevant) and you’ll never look at can openers the same way again. Come for Ahsoka’s backseat driving, stay for the giant space manta rays.
